Burger King’s 2023 Halloween commercial inspired by Scream

According to Bridget Jewell, ECD at Dentsu Creative: “When we were trying to come up with ideas to announce the return of Ghost Pepper Whopper, we wanted to put our own spin on the ‘scream queen’ concept. And we were inspired by movies like Scream and shows like American Horror Story to find the perfect balance between creepy and spicy.”

Personal opinion
It had a promising start, but somewhere in the middle, everything became just cringe. I wanted to like it, but I couldn’t. I am also not a big fan of Scream movies.

What I really liked
The brand has created a website called TheCall.BK.com where people can answer a terrifying personalized phone call.
